THREE YEARS OF WAR
SATURDAY'S CELEBRATIONS,
■ ■; Saturday next will be the third anniversary of the declaration of war, and ;to mark the .event it has been arranged to hold a citizens' patriotic demonstration in the Town Hall in the evening. The chair will be occupied by the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke, C.M.G.), who will submit a. motion expressing inflexible ."determination to continue the war to a, Victorious end. The speakers for the evening will include the Prime Minister, jSir Joseph Ward, Sir James Allen, Councillor '■ It; "Ay Wright, M.P., and Councillor M. F. Luckie.
', On Saturday morning celebrations will take place in^ltaman Catholic churches throughout the Dominion. Mass will "be said at 7 o'clock at the Basilica, Hillstreet, and special prayers offered for ■the speedy termination of the war and the victory of Britain and her Allies.
