QUOTATIONS IN LONDON

(DNITBD JRBSS ASSOCIATION.—COPIRIBHT.) (Received April 13, 1.30 p.m.)

LONDON, 12th April.

The official maximum price for butter has been reduced by 4s per cwt. all round. The market is disorganised. There are heavy supplies of Danish butter now arriving. It is estimated that there are 250,000 boxes of Australian and 90,000 boxes of New Zealand butter on the spot and afloat, but close at hand. There is very little business being done,, as buyers are holding off. The following quotations are given as, purely nominal :■ —Australian choicest, 190s to 192s per cwt. —many lines showing the effects of hot weather prevailing at the time the butter was made. New Zealand butter, 204s to 208s per cwt. Danish butter, 205s to 210s per cwt.
