PREVIOUS BOMBARDMENTS WERE CHILD'S PLAY
(Australian-New Zealand Cable Association.) PARIS, 26th September. What is going to happen on the Somme front cannot be foretold or exactly foreseen. French and British guns of all calibres are belching forth thousands of tons of projectiles, and the earth tremors resemble earthquakes. The previous artillery preparations in Picardy and at Verdun were child's play. The aviators are assisting by dropping hundreds of bombs at points of strategic importance. A great number of ammunition depots have been blown up, and stations burnt. ENEMY SAYS ATTACKS FASLED. LONDON, 25th September.
