ON THE BESSARABIAN FRONT
RUSSIANS' INCESSANT AND RESOLUTE ATTACKS. . (Received. October 18, 0.30 a.m.) LONDON. 16th October. The Russians are maintaining incessant and resolute attacks on the German positions on the Bessarabia frontier. Their artillery fire is tremendous, facilitating successful storming assaults at night-time. THE NATION'S LABOUR GERMAN OFFENSIVE COMPLETELY STOPPED. (Received October IS, 9 a.m.) PETROGRAD, 16th October. General Polivanoff announces that the results of the intense labour of the whole nation are felt at 'the very front. Tlie German offensive has been completely stopped. The Russian position can only improve if the resources in men and labour of the Allies give us efficacious aid in the matter of military supplies.
