SEWER GAS

A 6hort timo ago it was reported that the Town Council of Parramattn had, on the advice of its engineer, decided to make a trial in the way of generation of useful motive power from sewer gas. Well, we learn now that, thanks possibly to some peculiar potency in the Parrainatta gas, tho ■experiment is proving highly successful. The Dumping engines at the Parramatta sewerage uorks ui<' being run smoothly and effectively by moans of the harnessed gab. Moreover, it 16 said that the engines ttlieu vorkod with sewer ga6, are under better control than when worked with coul gas. Tho jubilant engincei reports that there is ample gas for developing 120 Korse-powci, uhich is much moi'o than it, required for pumping nt the works, and he strongly urges (he council to adept some nlan for the full utilisation of its smelly asset,
