(IT TELEGRAPH— SPECIAL TO THB POSTt) MASTERTON, This Day. Mr. J. H. Estill, representative of the Port of London Authority, addressed a well-attended meeting of farmers here last night, speaking on the advantages of London as a distributing centre for oversea produce. He referred to the methods ■ of handling frozen meat and dairy produce, and pointed out that the Port Authority was anxious to make every possible improvement to enable produce to be handled in the most up-to-date manner. It was intended to expend £14,000,000 in erecting new stores, with up-to-date methods of handling goods. Of this sum £5,000,000 was now being expended in tho erection of two great stores. lie hoped the people of New Zealand would realise that in London they were doing everything possible to improve conditions in regard to the handling and storing >of produce. Mr. Estill answered a number of questions, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his lucid and instructive address. The Wairarapa polo tournament was concluded in line weather, and in the presence of a large attendance of spectators. The Wairarapa A team defeated Waipukurau A by 5 goals to 2, after an interesting game, and thus won the cup presented by Sir Walter Buchanan for annual competition. A miniature silver cup goes to every player in the winning team. The cups were presented by Mr. H. H. Beetham. In the second grade, Waipukurau team scored an easy victory over Wairarapa B, scoring 16 goals to their opponents nil. The members of the winning side each received a handsome trophy, presented by Mr. W. H. Riddiford, captain of the Wairarapa Club.
