(HI TILIORAPH— SPKCIAL TO THI POST.) OTAKI, This Day. " Mrs. Udy, een., an old and respected resident of this district, was, unfortunate enough while alighting from a vehicle at Waikanao to fall and break a leg. Although the sufferer is 72 j;ears of age, she bore her misfortune with fortitude. She is now an inmate of the Otaki Hospital, and doing as well as can bo expected. During March last the rainfall totalled only 1.12 in. The heaviest fall (.34in) was on the 2nd. For the previous March over four inches fell, while the average for the pa«l ton years (March month) was 2.89 in. The Otaki Hospital is at present very full, extra beds having to be made up. Tlioic is much sickness in the town and district, among the number being bulfei'ers at Parapataumu from chicken-pox.
