«».. . , — The secretary desires to acknowledge the following further donations to the above fund : C. H. Howard £5 ss, and from the Town Clerk 10s (sent to him by F.E.,_ Martinborough). The Citizens' Committee list now totals about £2700— including Mrs. W. R. Willkms's two subscriptions, £1000 and £500, There is already in hand about £900 of the total, and no delay is anticipated in getting in the balance. The Major (Mr. J. P. Luke) has called -a meeting of the Finance Committee of the City Council for to-morrow afternoon in order to deal with 1 the' question of the purchase and make the necessary arrangements for the completion of the financial side of the matter, and to take' whatever other stops may be necessary in connection with ihe control of the property.
