KARORI MAYORALTY MR. W. T. HILDRETH TO STAND.
Mr. W. T. Hildreth. well known as a member of the Wellington Harbour Board, /has Consented to stand as a candidate for the mayoralty of Karon at the coming elections. He has written the -following letter to Mr. T. R. Boyes in reply to the request of a deputation last week that he should allow himself to be nominated :—"I: — "I desire to thank yourself and the other members of the deputation for the honour conferred upon me by asking me to allow myself to be nominated for the office of Mayor of Karori. After consideration, I have decided to accede to your request, as I feel it my duty to do what I can to further the interests of the borough. I trust my past experience on the council and the Harbour Board will be of assistance, and, should I be elected, I will do my utmost to ' merit your confi' dence."
