POULTRY CLUB'S SHOW
OPENING DAY. The Welkngton Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Society's New Zealand championship show was opened this afternoon in the Skating Rink in Vivianstreet. The entries total 955, as against 649 last year, and the exhibitors number 202 as against 127. The number of poultry entries is 300. The general arrangements are excellent, and the indications are that the show will be one of the moat successful yet held by the club. Among tiie exhibits are two 6t three worthy of special mention, including a pair of true Scotch canaries from Dunedin and a very accomplished talking parrot. The show will remain open to-morrow and Friday, and the art union will be drawn on Friday evening at 9.15 o'clock. * To-day the judges' awards are boing made.
