At the Police Court, William Henry Frankpitt was charged with having, by means of false pretences at Ahaura, obtained seventeen bales of wool, valued at £196, from William Clayton. He was remanded to appear at Greymouth. Accused was a storekeeper a few miles out of Hokitika, and it is alleged he falsely represented himself as the agent for a Wellington firm of wool brokers.
