B«eenting a statement by the Premier that imprisoned suffragists could he released immediately if • they undertook not to repeat their offence, Mr. George Lansbury (Labour member for Towers Hamlet) went to the Treasury Bench and shook his fist in the faces of Ministers. He screamed s "You should be turned out of office. Go to posterity as torturers of women !" The Speaker requested him to leave, but he refused to do so. Thrice he was warned, but without effect. Then sonic Labourites prevailed on Mr. Lansbury to withdraw.
