EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE.
AiNNtf AL MEETING OF WELLING^ TON BRANCH. The annual meeting of the- Wellington branch of the New Zealand Educational 'Institute was held last evening. Mr. G. Flux (president) occupied the chair. There was a satisfactory attendance. The annual report stated that the number of members was now 293—- an increase of 28 on that of last year ; 135 teachers who had not joined the institute were approached with a view to their coming in ; 32 sent back favour* •able replies, and three declined member, ship. There are still in the board's serpic« about 120 teachers eligible for membership who have not yet decided to aocepl nomination. It is hoped that members will in the coming year show mure enthusiasm in endeavouring to secitifeaew members than appears to have bei»n the case during the past year. Niaie general meetings of the institute, have been held during the year, one Of which extended to two sessions. in his presidential address (published eweni-here) Mr. Flux tendered his thanks to the institute officer* Ia tlieif excellent work during his term of office, specisi mention being made of the secretary, Mr. E.
