ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES. YOUNG MAN DROWNED.

As the result of a boating accident at Paraparaumu yesterday a young Wellington resident uamed Clarence Morrish lost his life. From inform ition received by the police authorities it appears that shortly after 9 s,.m. Morrish and a youth named Hyde, a son of Mr. D. D. Hyde, poultry eapert, put out from tho beach in a small canvas boat. They had got about half a mile from the shore when a wave struck the craft and capsised it. Hj'de was rescued by his father, who was a witness, of the accident, but Morrish was drowned. Every endeavour was made to recover the body, but up till this morning it had not been found. ' Deceased, who was 21 ycais of age, was employed by Meessrs. Macky, Logan, Caldwell and Co., in their warehouse at Wellington. His parents reside in Wellington, but at present his father and brother are away at Christchurch. This is the second death by drowning in the Morrish family within srt months, Mr. Wm. Morrish having lo.'it his life oif Cheltenham Beach in the latter part of last year. A cyclist named J. Conroy, married, and residing at Epuni Hamlet, was ia» jured in a collision oil the Hutt-roa<B yesterday afternoon, and sustained a fractured ankle. He was conveyed to the hospital for treatment.
