PERSONAL MATTERS.
The Hon. A. T. Ngata, has returned to Wellington frofti Kawakawa. Mr. Ciaude Campbell, of th« Bank of New Zealand, has left for a u-ip to Australia. • Tho Rev. Father Kimbell, Maiisb Missionary, is on a health visit to Haamer Springs. H© is hopeful o f being able to resume his duties shortly. Mr. Henry D. Baker, American ViceConsul General for Australia, who is on a visit to New Zealand for tbe purpose of reporting to the United States Government on commercial conditions here, has arrived in Wellington, which ho will make his headquarters during his stay, in tho Dominion. Mr. C. W. Tanner, of Cross Creek, has announced to the electors of tha Wairarapa that, ha will be a candidate, at ths coming general election (writes our Carterton correspondent). He is a, supporter of the Ward Administration, and his main platform will bo ths reform of native land laws. He will shortly commence the campaign by addressing the electors at the various centres.
