ROWING. •The remaining heat and the final of the Petone Rowing Club's junior pairs were rowed on Saturday afternoon for a trophy, presented by Mr. J. W. Martin. In the heat, P. J3runnette (stroke), J. Wilson (bow) and W. Lacey (cox) easily beat J. Daly (stroke), W. Symons (bow), and J. Wilds (cos). Brunette's crew also defeated Packard (stroke), Cla.pson (bow), and J. Wilds (cox), in the final. MOUNTED CORPS IN CAMP. Two mounted corps (the Dominion Scouts and the Heretaunga Rifles) went into camp on the Hutt Park on Saturday afternoon for their annual training. -Yesterday was visitors' day, the Petono Municipal Band was in attendance. The corps will bo inspected nest Thursday afternoon by the Commandant, Major. General Godley. YACHTING. Four boats competed for the life-savi-ng event, which was held off the Petone foreshore on Saturday afternoon, under the auspices of the Heretaunga Boating Club. The results were : — Spray, Ist, time, 24sec. Gil Bias, 2nd, 4r2sec ; Runa, 3rd, 53^sec. Hinau, "disqualified. Entrants for the 18ft and under race were : Ruby (scr), Spray (4min), Tom Wilford (6min), fiata (lOmin), Runa (llmin), Gil Bias (12min), Bronzewing (16min), and Wai-iti (20min). They finished in the following order : — Rata, lhr 27min it sec, 1 ; Bronzewing, lhr 25min I7sec, 2 ; Spray, lhr 29min 30sec, 3. -Tom Wilford, lhr 31min, 38sec; Ruby, lhr 31min 30 bee ; Gil Bias, lhr 34miu 15sec ; Wai-iti, lhr 45min 43scc; Runa. lhr 53min.
