FROM LONDON.
There were 436 passengers by the Athenic from London to-day of whom 338 were in the third class. Of the passengers 55 (25 children) were nominated by friends in New Zealand, and 32 were approved by the High Commissioner. All the immigrants were met by officials of the Immigration Department (Mr. Dauby), Labour Department (Miss Bremner), and .Girls' Friendly Saciety, and church societies. The immigrants bring with them declared capital of . £2665. The occupations of the men folk include mining, farming, tailoring, and general labouring. A large number . of the third-class passengers were wives and children coming out to their bread-
