[BY TELEGItAPH — SPECIAL TO THE POST.] PALMERSTON N., This Day. A new invention in the way of flax dressing machinery is being tested at a mill afc Oroua Bridge. It has been possible, by means of it, to strip the paddock, and scutch the green leaves in live hours, doing away with the drying of the fibre, and shortening the process of preparation by about ten days. Thp machine is the invention of Mr. O. J. Thompson, of Milton, Otago.
