KARORI RIFLE CLUB.
» THE ANNUAL MEETING. About twenty members of the Karori Rifle Club attended the annual meeting which was held last night. Mr. W. E. Jackson, the retiring president, was in the chair. The annual report spoke of last season's doings as being satisfactory, both in regard to -the high standard of shooting and the big attendances at the weekly competitions. Seventeen members represented the club at the Dominion Rifle Association meet- | ing, and all-.of them shot well. The I club team shot into second place in the champion teams' match, Ritle.man Halliday compiling the good score of 100 points. Rifleman Marshall finished third in 'the service aggregate. At the Rifle Club's Association meeting, the championship was won by Rifleman Halliday. The first rifle club training camp, held at Palmerston North, was attended by nineteen members of Karori Club. The report concluded with a congratulatory reference to the inclusion of Rifleman Halliday in the team to represent New Zealand at the Commonwealth rifle match to be fired in Sydney next month. A debit of £6 was shown in the balance sheet, occasioned by a liberal prize list, and a too moderate charge for the annual dinner. Officers for the ensuing season were elected as follow: — Patron, Mr. W. H. Field, M.P. ; vice-patrons, Messrs. A. E. Pearce and F. J. Lissington ; president, Mr. H. Marshall ; deputy president, Mr. G. Halliday - y vice-presidents, Messrs. J. P. Luke, M.P., W. H. Tisdall, L. Blundell, Owen Daly, J. F. Mills, F. M. B. Fisher, 'M.P., W. 0. Gasquoine, C. C. Odlin, A. Collins, J. Keir, W. J. Blundell, W. E. Jackson, Captain Johnston, Captain Hall, Major Hislop,_j Judge Rawson ; secretary, Mr. A. C. Maisey j assistant secretary, Mr. A. W. Kemp ; treasurer, Mr. C. Hodder; handicapper, Mr. J. Rabe ; committee, Messrs. W. E. Aston, A. Guise, P. M'Laren, A. France, and the executive officers. _ Mr. W. E. Jackson, the retiring president, was unanimously elected to life membership.
