(Received September 6, 10.45 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. Mr. Ames, a member of the Canadian Parliament, said the chief question to be dealt with at the congress was Imperial preference. Canada had gone as far as possible in that direction with tho United Kingdom, but it was possible to go further with Australia, to the ' advantage of both countries. The treaty with i*ew Zealand, Mr. Amos declared, was working well. Canada's trade witn that country had doubled in five years. Arrangements between Canada and other .countries had also resulted in benefit to all concerned.
