SUICIDE OF A BOY.

Evidence points to the fact that the boy Bridge committed suicide owing to a quarrel with his sister. The boy, 12 years of age, deliberately placed his head on the line in front of an advancing engine at Elsternwick, and j was decapitated. PHTHISIS CASES. AUSTRALIA SHOULD TAKE STRONG MEASURES. At the Science Congress, Dr. Umpston, of Perth, urged strong measures to prevent the landing of phthisis cases. Since 1888, he said the declining death rate from the malady had been progressive and uniform in all States except Westralia.
