King Alahutu, who is in Auckland, expressed himself highly enthusiastic ; he believes a native gathering could be held in Auckland on such a scale as was never known bofore. As representative of the original owners of the soil, it would be a pleasure to welcome them, and that pleasure would be shared by his people. PROGRAMME OF ENTERTAINMENT. . AUCKLAND, This Day. The Mayor has convenod a meeting of citizens for 24th April, to initiate a programme for the entertainment of tho American fleet, .and has telegraphed to the Premier, asking the intentions of the Government in this connection.
