INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION. QUARTERLY MEETING. '
VARIOUS MATTERS DISCUSSED. The Wellington Provincial Industrial Association met last evening. Present — Messrs. F. €. Crease (president), A. D. Riley, A. W. Nov. ton, C. Palliser, E. Bull, H. 11. Seaton, T. Ballingcr, C. E. Carter, W. Cable, Ilardie Shaw, and W. C. Stephens. QUARTERLY REPORT. The president presented the ÜBual quarterly statement. Ho said .that since the last quarterly meeting a good deal, of work had been done in the intejreiests of the industries of tho Dominion. The membership of the association continued very satisfactory, and he asked all members to interest themselves in securing new members. The good work which the association was ■ doing was well known. , The credit balance of the association dtood at £24 Is Bd, and there was a sum of £106 11s 9d on fixed deposit. Two matters which had engagea considerable »*ttontion wero tho industrial area and a, suitable site for a technical school. At | the moment he did not intend to say : anything regarding the former matter, but in reference to thellatter he pointed out that the Government intended removing the museum to Mount Cook,'and v : he considered the time was opportune for another deputation to wait upon tho Government. Mount Cook had--special advantages as a site for a technical school. Doubtless the matter would soon again be occupying tho at- '. tcntion of the Technical School Board. It was imperative that a now site be J obtained. By ' the reorganisation and ; . rejuvenation of the Industrial . Cor- 1 poration of New Zealand the thres in- | dustrial associations would be kept in^i close touch. > It was suggested a deputation shouldbe appointed to again interview the Minister of EducatioD^to urge upon hini the necessity of having' a site for a technical school set apart at Mount ■ Cook. The secretary stated that ne had been . informed by Mr. La Trobe "(the Director of the School) that- the -Technical School Board was moving in the/ matter, and he had promised that th?S . association would lend all Ihe assistance in its power. The subject was not discussed fu> ther. THE DOCK' SITE. Mr. T. Bal^higer said he though!! something should bo done in, reference to the dock site, by the association. Blair Anderson and J. D. Antiereon, were elected. f j, It was decided to send a lottat. of condolence to Mrs. H. A. M'Gregbr (and her relatives) in connection witk the death of her late husband.
