Shares in the Karangabako mine have experienced a sharp rise in price during the past day or two, in consequence of stone on the properly. The first find was in the drive being* put in for the No. 2 (or low) level, where a formation was mot with consisting of slrinyers of quartz and sandstone, Iho former showing blotches of gold in (ho atone. It was from this formation that the cjuar'vZ carrying gold, was forwarded to Auckland .and placed on exhibition at the company's ofiioe. Subsequently, on the surface, about 250 fret higher up on iho bluif, another formation was found, and one of tlio quartz stringers here carried strong blotches of gold, several pounds of nico-looking stone being obtained. The s-t ringers arc in solid lountry, and the formation may prove a continuation of that mot with down below. This point and the importance of the disioverios can, however, only bo ascertained by further development work.
