im. WADE ATTACKS NSR. DEAKIN. "DELIBERATE EVASION." FURTHER CORRESPONDENCE USELESS. By Telegraph. — Press Association.— Copyright. (Received December 20, 10.12 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The New Souih. Wales Premier( Mr. Wade) tabled correspondence between the Federal and State- Governments regarding the capital site. In the course of the correspondenceMr. Wado attacked Mr. ,Deakin (Federal Premier) for deliberate evasion in the matter, and declares, mat it is evidently useless to carry the correspondence any further. The Stale nuibl, says Mr. Wade, at the proper lime takfr al! necessary steps to asrort its rights. It is not a matter of concession. In answer to a series of questions in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly on tho 12th inst., the Premier stated that, realising it Aviis most important to fix a, date for the discussion of tho capital site in the Commonwealth Parliament, he had been in correspondence v.'ith the Prime Minister for 301 m; weeks past for the purpose of obtaining an assurance that the question would be dealt with during tho current session of tho Federal Parliament. Mr. Deakin pointed out thnt a definite promise was iiot practicable owing to the urgency of the tariff and tho large demands made by its discussion upon tho time- of the House. Appreciating the fairness ol' this objection ho (Mr. Wado) then asked Mr. Deakin if ho would givo a definite undertaking to make this matter of tho capital silo tho first business in tho next session of Parliament. "Our future attitude, ' Mr. Wado added, "must be governed very largely by tho nature- of the reply which I am now awaiting from tho Commonwealth. If the reply is received before this session terminates I will lay all the correspondence upon tho table" of this House, and in any case I will mako it known through the press. l .
