BLANCHE ARRAL CONCERTS. The second of the series of 'concerts to tie given by Madame Blanche Arral will take place to-morrow evening at the Town Hall. The programme is a specially attractive one, containing many arias new to Wellington. The great scerui from Gounod's opera, "If I Were King," is of special interest, as this is one of the test pieces for admission as a performer to the Grand Opera House, Paris. This aria has been a stumbling block of many an operatic aspirant. Another, new aria will bo the famous Nightingale's Song from the opera, "The Wedding of Jeanette." Madame Arral will also sing the Flower Song from "Faust," Braga*s Serenata, and other popular items, but the piece de resistance will be the magnificent scena, "Ah, fors c lvi," from Verdi's great opera, "La Traviata." Thk aria will be sung in its entirety, which is seldom attempted by any vocalist. Herr Paans (violin) and Signor TorziUo (harp) will contribute instrumental items, anjfl with etich an excellent programme -the Town Hall should be filled. ■• The Ivy Social Club holds', an aeeemhly. at the Victoria Hall, Adelaide-road, to-night and every Thursday evening. OniSaturday evening, Wellington citizens will have an opportunity of hearing am organ recital at the Town Hall by a musician with a very good reputation. The artist is Mr." Harold Gregeon (formerly of Napier), organist of the Church of the Holy Innocents, Hammersmith, London, who is paying a visit' to New Zealand. The calibre of this talented musician is sufficient to induce large numbers to enjoy the entertainments which the City Council has arranged. The programme will be announced soon.
