HARBOUR BOARD LOANS.

FLOATED LOCALLY. Tenders closed yesterday for the purchase of one thousand debentures of £100 each, part ,of a loan of £850,000 authorised by the Wellington Harbour Board Act, 1902, and the amending Act of ISO 3. The debentures were to bear'interest afc the rate of 4£ per cent, per annum. This afternoon the ten ders were opened in committee, and on the board resuming it was reported that tho amount subscribed was £124,100, of which, however, certain tenders wero informal. The secretary was authorised to sell over the counter those debentures which were not accepted, up to £100,000. Of tho £50,000 offered in London at 4 per cent, the board accepted £49,500.

It was decided by the Harbour Board tnis afternoon to instruct the engineer to prepare plans and specifications for a cart whan at Petonc, and to call for tenders as soon as the land arranged for has beco vested in the board. -' Messrs. Stewart Dawgon and Co. have opened up a very complete assortment of tobacco pouches. These are made of antelope and back skin.
