CRICKET.
A meeting of the Umpire's Association was held at Batkin's last night. The* draft rules submitted by the sub-com-mittee were passed with slight amendments. The officers for the ensuing season are as follows :— President, Mr. C. A. Knapp; Vice-Presidents, Messrs. C. W. Benbow, J. P. Firth, G. Webb, and F. Bradey ; Chairman, Mr. D. M'Kenzio ; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr. G. Warren ; Auditor, Mr. E. B. Vance ; Examination Committee, Messrs. C. E. Stevens, R. Halley, and D. M'Kenzie; Appointment Committee, Messrs. A. F. Wiren, D. M'Kenzie, and G. Warren. Messrs. P. Mackie, W. R. Bock, A. Brown, C. A. Richardson, W. A. Parton, J. P. Firth, A. Heine, and &. G. S. Robieson ,were elected members of the Association. The third-class fixtures for Saturday next are as follows : — Karori v. Albion, at Karori ; St. Patrick's College v. College A, at College; Phoenix v. College B, at College ; Old Boys v. Wellington, at Athletic Park No. 4; Gas Company v. Newtown, at Day's Bay No. 1; Austral v. Thorndon, at Day's Bay No. 2; Midland v. V.M.C.A., at Day's Bay No. 3; Wadestown v. Rovers, at Day's Bay No. 4; Johnsonville a bye. Owing to the unprepared state of the Johnsonville wickets, the Fourth-class Championship will not start till 12th November. I
