The Federal Cabinet haa accepted New Zealand's offer to agree to a reduced terminal rate for cable messages in return for the Commonwealth undertaking to deliver New Zealand letters bearing only a penny stamp, The Federal House has accepted most of the Senate's amendments in the Public Servico Bill. The Franchise "Bill, which extends the franchise to women, has been read a second time toy 29 to 6. A representative of "Tattersall's" waited on the Secretary of th* Postal Department, and stated that his principal did not intend to try to carry out operations through the Post-office, but was taking' other steps to conduct sweeps. THE CORONATION. « HOLIDAYS IN THE ROYAL DOCKYARDS. . [PEESB ASSOCIATION.] LONDON, 23rd April. The Government dockyards will be closed on 26th and 27th June in connection with tlxo Coronation celeßrations. Full wages will be paid the labourers.
