George Arundel, an inmate of the Benevolent Institution, left the Homo yesterday morning to visit the grave of his •wife in the Northern Cemetery, and there attempted suicide. At a tat© nour in the afternoon he was found in a very weak siate witli a quantity of blood about him. He was removed to the hospital, but died before arriving. It was faun-d that he had made three cuts into superficial veins in the left leg, and had also attempted' to cut his throat. He was 82 years old. AUCKLAND, 15th November. A man. named Daniel Tapley Moverley, aged 47, a waiter, went to a hotel to buy a pint of beer. He was served by the wife of the licensee, but as she brought the beer she noticed he had his hands to his head aud appeared Very unwell. She went to his assistance, and then sent for a doctor, but Moverley expired before a medical man arrived. The cause of death is believed to have been heart disease. He was removed to his parents' house, and attended by Dr. Perry.
