[Bi TELEGRAI'H — OWN CORRESPONDENT., MASTERTON, This Day. Animal sports are to be inaugurated in connection with the breaking up of the Masterton School. The number of names on the roll of the Masterton schools now totals 683. A young man named Frank Ofsoski was fined £3 and cost* this morning for cruelty to a horse. The excursion steamer Duchess will run to Day's Bay to-morrow and Sunday mornings and afternoons. The morning trip to the Bay to-morrow ia fixed for 9.30 a.m., instead of 10 a.m., and tlvd afternoon trip from th.c Bay is deferred till 6 p.m. Mr. 0. Smith recently purchased a manufacturer's* Btoek of sample sunshades, which he is now selling at maker's, prices. There will be a show of new season goods in the window to-night.
