The following are the latest quotations for Government securities : —

The market rate of discount for best three months' bills is 9-16 higher at 3$ per cent. The Bank of England rate is 4 per cent., as against 3 per cent, on the 18th July, 3i per cent, on the 14th June, and 4 per cent, on the U3rd May. COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUOE. Wheat — Tho markets are quiet, but steadier. Victo/ian, July shipment, cargoes 31a, parcels 80u per quarter, c.i.f . Svgar — German beet, SSdegr, 4£d higher, at lls 10£ d per cwt; Java cane, not quoted. Bradford Tops — The market is brisker, but prices are unchanged. Common sixties, 20 id per lb ; super sixties, 2l£d per lb. Wool — At the sales the " Omarama" olip realised B|d, and the " Ellerslie " ll£d. THU PJRICES OF MWTALS. Copper — Spot, 20s higher, at JJ73 15s per ton ; three months', 20s higher at .£73 17s 6d per ton. Tin — Tho market is quiet. Spot, £11 lower, at Jsl2Gperton; three months', 40a lower, at iU27 per ton. Pig iron — Glasgow warrants, No. 1, cash, 2s 3d higher, at 72a per ton f.o.b. in Clyde.
