YESTERDAY'S LOCAL "WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

The New Zealand Loan and Alercantile Agency Company, Limited, reports as follows : — Wool and sheepskins — We . offered a anall but representative catologue, for which there was active competition. Prices on the whole were satisfactory, and well up to the level of the London equivalent. Quotations : Wool — Crossbred, sid ; prime crutchings up to 3^d ; good, 3d to 3£d ; medium and inferior, l£d to 2£d per lb. Shbepskjns — Half bred, s£d ; orossbreds, 4^d to sd; medium to good, 3jd to 4id; inferior and broken, 2d to 3d per lb. Messrs. Alurray, Roberts and Co. report :— rWe offered 60 bale of wool, consisting chiefly of crutchings, and 2650 sheepskins. Buyers operated with more confidence, and prices all round showed a slight improvement on last sale's rates. We quote as follows: — Skins — Fine crossbreds, 4|d to s£d per lb ; coarse crossbreds, 4^d to 4^d ; dead and inferior, 3d to 4d ; pelts, sound, 6d to Is each. Wool —Fine crossbred crutchings, 3^d to 4d per lb ; coarse crossbred crutchings, 3d to 3j,d ; inferior crossbred crutchings, ljd to 2|d; stragglers' fleece, 4d to sid. Messrs. Levin and Co., Limited, report that they offered about 30 bales of 'wool, chiefly crutchings, and a quantity of sheepskins. Prices remained at the low level of the last few weeks.
