THE NEW ROAD TO KARORI.
TO THE EDITOK. Sir— Still the new road drags its weary length along, both metaphorically and literally. I do not, however, wish to again upset the somnolence of the Karori Borough Council, and would merely enquire of the powers that be whether there is ever going to be another road to the Reservoir Reserve ? The City Council of Wellington, with its customary habit of ignoring the public weal, allows the Karori Borough to do as it pleases in the matter of the Reserve-road, and from all appearances it seems the mantle o£ the undersigned has settled permanently on the two Councils. We have got so used to the dead-and-alive manner in which the Karori Borough transacts (?) its business, that it were almost useless troubling you to once again, and for the last time, call attention to the subject-matter contained in .this letter except for the forlorn hope that there may yeb be at least one Councillor either in the Wellington or Karori Council who may be able to rouse himself from the state of torpor into which he has fallen.' However, if life has actually left the Councils I will say no more, for JDc mortuis nil nisi bonum. I am, &c, Rip Van Winkle.
