A verdict of justifiable homicide has been returned in connectipn with the death of Robert Spradbrqw, who was shot by a policeman at Mundooran, N.S.W. Colonel Olcott, President of the Theo- ' sophical Society, is now on a visit to Sydney. There are now in New South Wales 388 dairy factories filled with plant and machinery, valued at £252,462. • The Townsville (Q.) Harbour Board has adopted a comprehensive scheme for improving the harbour, estimated to cost £200J000. Mr. Edward Chisholm has accepted the seat on the Board of Directors of the Bank of New South Wales rendered vacant,by the death of Captain Charles Smith. During last year 523.500 tons of stone were treated on the Queensland goldfields for a yield of 609,6610z gold. j Mrs. Arthur Graham, of Melbourne, has ; recovered £500 from an omnibus company ' in London as compensation for injuries received by falling from one of the company's *buses. The trustees of the National Art Gallery in Sydney intend to send to England for exhibition a representative collection of Australian-pictures. i —^ —
