The San Francisco mail summary contains a paragraph slating that Mr. Seddon, on the j voyage from Auckland to San Francisco, j san:* The Wearing of the Green," which, i being a song held in special aversion by the Queen, caused much comment. ,A passenger who was present, however, informs the Auckland Star that the song created nothing but favourable comment at the time. No remark was made about its being unpopular with Uip Queen until a letter appeared to that effect ill a San Francisco newspaper.
