For some years there ma a lodge at Crom- < well, in Otago, known as the Cromwell 1 Kilwinning, but it has been dormant for a 1 considerable time, and the name has now I been aestuned by a new lodge opened last ' Tnesday evening under the New Zealand ' Constitution, as No. 98, by thu Jt.W. Grand i Superintendent of Otago, Bro. Kirby, as 1 Acting-Deputy Grand Master, assisted by ( Wor. Bro G. Mullis, W.M. of Lodge Ophir, i aB G.S.W. ; Wor. Bro. 8. W. Wilson, P.M. i Lodge Ophir, as G J.W. ; Wor. Bro. Win. i Butler, P.M. Lodge Arrow, as G. Chaplain ; Wor. Bro. J. Burton as G.D.C. ; Wor. Bro. ( G. Heller, Arrow, as G.S. ; Wor. Bro. S. 1 Peden, as G.B. The lodge was constituted, t conseorated, and dedicated in due form, c The following brethren were then installed 1 and invested :— Wor. Bro. D. A. Jolly, W.M.; "< P.M. Bro. Eobert Wishart, D.M. ; Bro. ( Spence Hardy Tnrton, fci.W. ; Bro. Thos. i Booney, J.W. ; Bro. Wm. Foremen, 8 D. ; 1 Bro. Wm. Bell, J.D.; Bro. Jas. Marshall, 1 Sec. ; Bro. Jas. Scott, Trea. ; Bro. Jas. Bell, J 1.G. ; Bro. Thos. Scott, Tyler; Bro. Jas. 1 Stuart, Steward. A great amount of en- t thusiam was shown at the meeting, more J especially by the Queenstown and Arrow- J town brethren, no less than 9 brethren I driving 42 miles to be present. After the c installation ceremony was concluded there ' was 10 candidates proposed for initiation, i all prominent men in Cromwell. After the i Lodge was olosed the brethren one and all f sat down to a sumptuous spread, when a t very pleasant three hours was spent. On t Wednesday the Grand Lodge officers drove t b*ok to Qaeenstown, and paid an offioial visit to Lake of Ophir Lodge, No. 85. j
