A Morris tube rifle match was fired in the Drillshed last evening, when the Guards beat the City Rifles by 11 points. The scores were : — Guards — Pvt. Remington, 34; Sergt. Stephens, 33; Pvt. M'Donald, 33; Pvt. Thawloy, 32 ; Pvt. Bonld, 31 ; Pvt. Duncan, 31 ; Corpl. Jenkins, 28 ; Corpl. Jones, 27 j Pvt. Hoinor, 26; Pvt. Withington, 25; total, 300. City Rifles— Pvt. To-Mner, 33; Sergt. Jackson, 32; Pvt. Turner, 3J ; Pvt. Madden, 31 ; Pvt. Marshall, 30 ; Sergt. Roberts, 30 ; Pvt. Wickens, 28 ; Pvt. Halpin, 27 ; Pvt. Clarige, 25 ; Pvt. Robinson, 21 ; total, 289. The Petone Navals and Heretaunga Mounted Rifles fire a match at the Drillshed to-morrow night, and there is an open match for allcomers on Saturday night. The following members of the Petone Nazals will represent that company in the Morris tube shooting matoh against the Heretaunga Mounted Infantry to-morrow night, at the Drillshed, at 8 o'clook : — Lieut -Com. Davy, Sub-Lieut. Kirk, P.O.'s Sinolair, M. Sedgwiok, and Jenkins, L.S. Holmes and Horntsen, Seaman Coleman, Horiifall, and Kinlay; emergenoies — Seamen Durrell, L Wilkie, and E. Wilkie. The Petone men will oome in by tho 7.15 train. The D Battery has been invited by the E Batte y to take part in a tournament (lonfj and short sword exercises, tug of war, &o.) at Christohnroh in November, but will not come to a decision until further information is to hand.
