Intercolonial Riyle Shoot ing.
The formation of a new association, to bo called tho Wellington Representative Shooting Association, was the outcome ot a meeting of volunteers nnd shooting men held in the Drillshed on Saturday night, to discuss tho question of sending representatives to the Now South Walos Rillo AssociaCou mooting Tho object of tho association will be to promoto competition in rifle practico with the Bister colonies, with provision for going further aricld should circumstanoos pormit of Bending shooting teams to England. Captain Collins (City KiHoo) was votod to the chair. Mr. W. H. Ballinger moved, "That an Association bo formed of Volunteers and shooting men goi orally, whose object is to promoto competition in rifle practico with the sister colonies of Australasia, and the representation of Wellington at such meetings." This was seconded by Corporal Jackson, and carried unanimously. It was then resolved that tho name of tho Association should ba "Tho Wellingtonßcpresontatye Shooting Association " ; and that tho Association should consist of an unlimited number of membors, and be managed by a committee of two members from each corp3 or olub, with a chairman and Beoretary, the officers of each corps being ex offioiq members of the committoo. A provisional committee whs appointed to draft rules and regulations for the conduct and guidance of tho Association, to bo submitted at a future meeting. Subsequently tho provisional committee mot and decided to submit the following to tho full mooting : — (1) That membership should bo open to all-coniors ; (2) that corps or olnbs may become affiliated on payment of a fco of £1 Is, which would entitle members of such club or oorps to become members of tho Association on pay ment of annual subscription of 2s Cd, non-affiliated members paying ss ; (D) thatthoro should be a patron, president, and throe vice-presidents, iv addition to tho Managemout Committee, as proposed at the general meeting. Capt. Collins was oleotod Chairman, The committee will moot ajrain in a few days to oomploto tho rules and propare regulations for the holding of a series of competitions, and to Bolect a number of representatives for the Sydney meeting.
