The Wellington Navalo continued their class-firine (first and second periods) on Saturday at both the Gully ranges. Fiftysix of all classes have passed their first period, and 3-1 their second. Tho firing will bo continued next Saturday at both ranges, and tboso members whp have not yet fired \ril\ have tbe last opportunity to do so then. In oonneotion with the parade on Friday ] night of the Wellington Rifles, the following promotions were read : —Corporal D. J. Love to be sergeant i Lanoe-corporala Marshall, Holden, and Hiokson having passod the necossary examination to bo corporals, i Before the " ditmiss " the company wore i roruinded that next Friday will be a Govern- ■ inent parade, and ihat it will be held at Mount Cook, as the Drillshed will be othor- ; wise engaged. The Amusoment Committee met after the parade in conneotion with the '• sooial " to be held on the 11th inst.
