Several of the "Wellington bowlers left for the South by the Manapouri yesterday afternoon, having 1 beon hospitably entertained by their Auckland friends, but having had vory littlo satibfaction so far as the game was concerned. The departed are Messrs. Gale, Ross, Muir, EIIBSOII, Young, and Scoullar. Bnfc six remain. ThoEe who wore able to stay have decided to play 6honld the rain, from which thero was a merciful intermission yesterday, not return. The snnshine yesterday afternoon was the first we have had this week. This morning Wellington (one rink) will play Wanganui and Napier, and in the afternoon Auckland will compete against a combination of eight rinks — viz., ono each from Wellington, Wanganui, aud Palmerston, three from Napier, and two from New Plymouth. Auckland and Now Plymouth play Wellington and Hawkes Bay at 3 p.m. One of tlio Napier bowlera has been the subject of much chaff. He came up via New Plymouth, and between that place and Onehunga was dreadfully seasick. When he reached Auckland it was found that ho had losthis purse, containing .£2O of funds for his jaunt, and it is now suggestod that ho "throw it up."

In the Inter-Club Matches, the following are results : — New Plymouth defeated Napier, scoring 32 against 25 ; Napier defeated Palmerston by 18 against 7 ; Wellington defeated Wansrahui by 21 against 15; Napier defeated Wellington by 14 against 9j Palmorston defeated New Plymouth by 10 against 8. Tho draft programme of tho annual tournament of tho New Zealand Bowling Association, to be held in Christchurch, has just been issued. From it we notice that the tournament is to last five days, from the Cth of February. The match North Island v. South Island (likely to be eight rinks a-sido) is fixed to start on tho fourth day, the first prize being a corfafieate, suitably framed, with the names of the winnors engrossed thereon, and a gold modal to each member, valued at £'2 10s each ; second prize certificate, framed, to club of which the players aro members. The Single-handed Champion Bowling Match is open to all members of a club affiliated to an association, and thero are four prizes allotted to it, viz. : — First and second, gold medals and certificates ; third, pair silvermountod bowls and certificate ; fourth, pair ivory-mounted bowls and certificate. Theso two ovonts aro apparently all that the members of the North Island Bowling Association aro eligible to compete in. Ono of the conditions of tho tournament prohibits the uso of bowls that do not draw at least 3ft in 90ft upon a koon green.
