THE PBIVILEGES OF BOARDERS. [By Telegraph. l [united i'jikbh association.) Christchurch. This Day. In the R.M. Court this morning. Mr. Poarce, proprietor of the Railway Hotel, was charged with selling- liquor on Sunday. Tho evidenco showed that nine people wero in a private room, one of whom was drinking. Ho said ho had been invited by a boarder. Mr. Beetham, H.M., -aid the matter hiwl already been nettled that a boarder had a right to invite a friend to drink. Another charge was that of keening tho bar open. The X.M FditJ the cases mnht hang together, as if it was lawful to kcop tho house open, it war) lawful to ojicii tlio bar to .serve tho lodger and liia friends. Both cases wore dismissed.
