Daring Burglary in Auckland.

[Bx Teleghaph.J (Fi om our own Correspondent.) ■ Auckland, This Dat. A (fans of daring burglars has been at work here in a systematic manner since Thu rsday morning. Porter and Co. 's branch ironmongery store, in Symondß-street, was found broken open, and the safe, containing £11 in cash, besides valuable books and papers, carried off without any person hearing a sound or a mark being left on the floor. It now appears that the burglars, having broken into the store, oarriod the safe bodily into a cab, which was waiting outside, and drove off to tho top of a rock near the Lunatic Asylum, where they broke it open with tools previously stolen from Munro's blacksmith's shop. Tho safo was found amongst some furze in a paddock. Tho cabman who drove the burglars from the store will give evidence against them. Three men named Ryan, Cottnell, and Watts, were arrested on Friday night and brought up at the Police Court on Saturday morning, and remanded till Tuesday. A fourth man, named Frowm, was arrostod on Saturday morning, charged with being concerned in the affair. Several of the prisoners were previously convicted thieves. Connell is said to have recently arrived from tho South.
