DARING EOBBERY AT A LONDON POST OFFICE. VALUABLES WORTH .£30,000 STOLEN. London, 17th" November. An extensive robbery was committed today at the Hatton Garden (London) Post Office. The gas in the office was suddenly turned off, and before it could be re-lighted a registered bag, containing diamonds and other valuables worth JBSO.OOO, was stolen. The robbe- has not yet been discovered. Consols, 100$. The Bank ot England rate of discount remains at 5 per cent. The market rate is 3|. The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is .£10,500,000. The New Zealand 4§ per cent. 1879-1904 loan has advanced to 101f. The 5 per cent. 10-40 and 1889 loans are unchanged at respectively 104& and 104. Adelaide and New Zealand breadstuff a and Australian tallow are without quotable change. _______ .________.
