ELECTION INTELLIGENCE.
Mr. T. Dwan addresses the Thorndon electors at ''ihe Arcade, M»nner3-stroot, tc-night. It will be seen by an advertisement that the friends cf Mr. E. t-tafford are invited to meet ai> the Arcade on Monday ovening next, at 8 o'clock. Another deputation waited on Mr. Paul Coffey this mining asking him to reconsider his determination not to stand for South Wellington. Mr. Coif oy promised to give an answer on Monday. Mr. Hutchison ad3ro3So3 the electors at tho Schoolhouse, Newtown, on Tuesday evening. Mr. Duncan Sinclair announces that he is a candidate for the Hutt District, and will address the Hutt doctors at an early date, of which due notice will be given. Mr. Russell, one of the candidates for the Foxton District, addressed tho electors at Otaki on Thursday evening. Fir^t of all he spoke, through an interpreter, to the Maoris, who preponderated, addressing thorn on local matters and warning them against those who were buying land tor tho railways. A number of the natives put questions to Mr. Russell, and as each question was answered, the questioner exolaimed : " This is my word, I shall voti against you." Tho candidate the a addressed the Europeans, receiving a vote of thanks.
