CORPORATION NEGLECT AND PARTIALITY.
+ — i — TO THE EDITOR OF THE 3VEKJNG POST. Sir— The approach to May-street from Molesworth-street is becoming very dangerous to foot-passengers, owing to the light way in which the Corporation filled in the earth after laying a pipe drain, without properly treading in the earth or ramming it down. A deep channel has formed by the earth settling down, and the loose surface washing away with the rain. It is very difficult after a shower of rain for ladies to walk along. Were your" reporter to go that way he would be more than satisfied that we have just cause for complaint; the place should be asphalted. We are paying an improvement rate, and we want a share of our own money spent in our own neighborhood contiguous to the properties for which we are rated ; and we want the thoroughfare in such order that we may walk along with, safety. As ratepayers, we have ever taken a lively interest in municipal matter?, and for so doing we have been punished by being compelled to open up a public street at our own cost, at a depth of sir or seven feet, for the purpose of draining our premises, and have witnessed drainage, with a sink carried inside of ratepayers' property, on the Terrace by the Corporation for the moro purpose of carrying off the surface rain water. We are, &c, George Anderson, \ Ratepayers, James Curtis, $ May-street.
