PROPOSED GAELIC SOCIETY.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE EVENING POST. Sir— Noticing.iby a telegram in your issue of yesterday, that 400 persons have already submitted their names for enrolment as members of the projected Gaelic Society of Otago, I would respectfully suggest that arrangements be made for the establishment of a branoh of that organisation in the Province of Wellington, in various districts of which reside considerable numbers of lealhearted Celts, who weuld be only too glad to co-operate with their countrymen in Otago in furthering their praiseworthy object. The suoceas that attended the kindred society of Vomunn na Feinne (Fingalian Club) in Goelong, Victoria, a few years ago, ought to be sufficient to inspire confidence in a similar project in New Zealand, a former secretary to the Geelong institution, I believe, now residing at Green Island, Otago. I am, &c, „„„ , Fior Ghaidheal. 20fch January.
