THE NEW ZEALAND DEATH.
Two inquests were held yesterday before Mr. Stratford, Coroner. The first was on the body of Mr. Gosling, an old resident of Nelson Creek, who was drowned in tho creek on the previous day. A verdict of found drowned was returned, to which a rider was attached censuring the County Council for not constructing a road in the neighborhood. The second was held last night on the body of a Chinese, who was drowned while endeavoring to ford Blackball Creek. A verdict of accidentally drowned was returned. Christchurch, 22nd January. The police received a telegram from Bealey to-day, that Thure Frederick Forugren, a Scandinavian, working at Brace's station, had been drowned while crossing the Waimakariri River near the junction of the Cam River. The body was found on Thursday, and an inquest held on Friday.
