• 11 n A 9° uncil ,y esterda y» Colonel Whitmore introduced a bill to authorise certain local boards, within the district of Wellington, to make by-laws.— The Juries Acts Amendment Bill was read a third time and passed.— Mr. Waterhouse complained that the Customs authorities had prevented him sending sufficient powder and shot to his station for rabbitshooting —Colonel Whitmore promised to make inquiries into the matter.— There was another short debate on the motion for tt- second reading of the Wellington City Reserves Bill, which merely rectified some mistakes which had been made, relative to the boundaries of the Botanical Gardens. Upon this being explained, the bill was allowed to pass its sflcond reading.— The Civil Service Bill was committed and read a third time.— The Rabbit Bill and Dangerous Goods Bill were considered in committee, their third readings being fixed for Wednesday next.— The Harbor Bill in committee occupied the rest of the afternoon, and at 5 o'clock the Council adjourned until Wednesday.
