A QUERY.
TO THE EDITOR OF THB BVEKINO POST. . Sir— Will you please insert in your next issue the auswer to the following question : When a sailor signs articles for the voyage to any foreign port and back again to the port from whence he started, on the ship arriving at the said foreign port the sailor runs away, and leaves his wages behind him. Do his wages go to the owners of the ship, or to the Board of Trade \ , , I am, &c, ' W P X Pakuratahi, IBth August, 1876. [Wo are informed that in such a case the seaman s wages would revert to the owner of the ship, only fines, forfeitures, and the ettects of deceased seamen go to the Board of Trade.— Ed. E. P.]
